Boson x reddit3/2/2023 Also our dogs and houses and laptops and such. ![]() The Higgs mechanism isn't what gives us mass. The Extended Rant, written for a somewhat non-technical audience: The fraction of the proton mass which comes from its interaction with the Higgs mechanism is less than 1% TLDR We are protons and neutrons, which have mass because of the energy associated with the quantum chromodynamic interactions associated with its constituents. It feels a precision platformer with some light shmup elements. After reading this one too many times from lazy physicists and and science-writers, we need to kill off this obnoxious phrase. The music and background changes every now and then, what bits of music I have heard I like, fast and frantic just like the game.īit-1 is a lot of fun. You do this by moving the floors and lining up the triangle and then the gap with the ball as it falls, which is done by dragging the floor left and right, I've not got past the third floor, so I can't say how complex it gets but based on what I have played its bloody hard, the ball moves fast so you really do need to think quick. There are several floors which are basically thick black lines with a gap in, each of these floors have a triangle on (probably several as the game advances) and you must hit each of these triangle only once and then get the ball through the gap. I couldn't find any trailers or reviews so here's a description of gameplay from the forums: I haven't played it yet but according to some impressions on TA, Drop Possible is very challlenging. Just added Pix N' Love Rush,, Bit-1, Tangled, MultiMaze, Dinky Ball, DROP POSSIBLE?, Mini Dash There were some levels where I was like "How the hell am I going to do that?"Īnd it should be noted that Hundreds is from the devs behind Canabalt and Solipskier.so they might know a thing or two about making quality challenging games All these elements combine to create a challenging game that will test both your mind and your fingers. And then comes value resetting sawblades, modules that you can pause to make barriers, linked bubbles that must be pressed together, and more. But if a bubble collides with the one you're touching them, you have to restart. The core mechanic is simple enough: hold down on bubble to increase their values to earn a sum of 100 points. The game is very challenging and is a mix of puzzles and twitchy reflex testing gameplay. For $5, you get 100 levels and an Endless mode. I bought the game for full price and I don't regret it. Some of you might be on the fence about Hundreds because of its price (OMG, $5 for a game! So much money) so here are the impressions I posted on TA: And it also has level editorĬommander Pixman has the retro visuals, the short but sweet levels, requires split-second reflexes and timing to achieve the three-star times, and has the amusing replays where all you attempts are shown simultaneously Only thing people might not like is that it uses a slider instead of left-right buttons but I feel it works fineġ4px similarly is very agile and has great levels, and is equally challenging. And it has the most content, in terms of levels and bonus stuff. Mini Dash has a colorful vibrant art style and fantastic level design and is probably the fastest and most manueverable of the three. They're all fantastic and if you need some hardcore, millisecond-timing platformers, you can't go wrong with any of them Okay, so Mini Dash, 14px, and Commander Pixman are all at war on my device, trying to decide which is the best SMB-style platformer on IOS. I Am Box is pretty bare bones (still worth a try though), but Gyro seems to have more modes and features My best time is 41 seconds, after dozens of attempts I can't comment on Gyro, but I Am Box is free and hard. ![]() Two more additions to the list: I Am Box and Gyroīoth games have a similar premise: you rotate a shape with colored sides to match the incoming colored projectiles. Some games you might recognize from my other threads and I'll probably post impressions of some in the comments.īe sure to share your own impressions or recommend other games So I thought I'd share this comprehensive and growing list here. ![]() On the Toucharcade forums, a bunch of us are discussing that beloved genre of IOS games: the ass-kicking, white knuckle, reflex testing, throw-your-device-out-the-window experiences
